An investigation of interaction of novocaine with fumed silica
Abstract
The interaction of anesthetic novocaine with a silica surface has been investigated by IR-spectroscopy and temperature-programmed desorption mass-spectrometry methods. The adsorption of novocaine depending on pH and concentration of equilibrium solution has been examined. The constant of adsorption equilibrium and value of boundary adsorption have been calculated. It has been determined, that thermolysis of novocaine on silica surface occurs in several stages.
