Synthesis of new 3-{2-[5-aryl-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydropyrazol-l-yl]-2-oxoethyl}- azolidinediones-2,4 and evaluation of their antitumor activity in vitro

Abstract

A series of 3-[2-(5-aryl-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydropyrazol-l-yl)-2-oxoethyl]-azolidinediones-2,4 were synthesized following the reaction of 2-chloro-(5-aryl-3-phenyl-4,5-dihydropyrazole-l-yl)-etanones with potassium salts of thiazolidinedione-2,4, imidazolidinedione-2,4 and their 5-arylidene derivatives. The structure of the synthesized compounds was confirmed by 1H spectra. Antitumor activity screening of the synthezised derivatives has shown their moderate activity with high selectivity to individual cell-lines of lung, renal, ovarian and CNS cancer.
